‘I’m gay, brown, and believe invisible in Britain’s homogeneous white, gay neighborhood’

“People inquire why we wanted pleasure, right here’s verification.”

These words—or some version of them—alongside a web link to a news facts towards newest intense homophobic approach, or some sort of homophobic abuse, happened to be commonplace on Twitter a week ago inside the lead up to Saturday’s Pride in London.

The tweets rightly highlight the discrimination and homophobia that nonetheless prevails in bigger community these days. But there’s a hypocrisy in LGBT+ neighborhood that renders myself uneasy. (more…)
